Qualifications for Membership
The church's constitution and bylaws outline these qualifications for membership:
  1. Profession of Faith: Members must believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.
  2. Baptism by Immersion: Baptism following a profession of faith is required, symbolizing obedience to Christ and alignment with biblical teaching.
  3. Adherence to Biblical Faith: Members affirm the Bible as their only rule of faith and practice, living a life that reflects its principles.
How to Become a Member
  1. Take the First Step:
    • Speak with an Elder and share your profession of faith in Jesus Christ.
    • If you haven’t already, take the step of baptism by immersion as a testimony of your faith.
  2. Explore Membership Options:
    • Already a member of a church of like faith? Transfer your membership with a letter from your previous church.
    • No letter? Share your testimony and previous baptism experience to join by statement of faith.
  3. Connect with Our Leaders:
    • Meet with one of our elders for a conversation about what it means to follow Jesus and be part of Cornerstone.
    • Learn more about our church’s mission, ministries, and values through a New Members Class.
  4. Celebrate Your Commitment:
    • Your membership will be affirmed by a vote of the congregation during a regular business meeting.
    • From there, you’re officially part of the Cornerstone family and ready to get involved!
Responsibilities of Members
Membership at Cornerstone Baptist Church comes with the joyful privilege of contributing to the church’s mission and living in a manner consistent with biblical teachings. Members are expected to:
  1. Demonstrate Christian Character:
    • Live a positive Christian lifestyle that reflects the teachings of Scripture.
  2. Engage in Personal Spiritual Disciplines:
    • Maintain regular habits of prayer, Bible study, and spiritual growth essential to the Christian life.
  3. Participate Faithfully in Church Life:
    • Attend church services consistently.
    • Actively share in the ministries and outreach efforts of the church.
  4. Support the Church Financially:
    • Contribute regularly to the church’s financial support and benevolence to further its mission.
